Crate Training Nightmare
Tried crate training today for a 9 week old pup. She went in fine. I gave her treats through the cage. She was fine. I then left the room and she went nuts.
The cage was rattling as she launched attacks against the front door. She was crying non-stop. She tore up the entire back area I tried to block off with a box. She chewed on the cardboard box with a vengeance while trying to knock off the front door.
I went back into the room and didn't let her out. She continued to go nuts. The cardboard box was now in pieces and I was afraid it might cut into her somehow.
I opened the crate but just took the boxes out. She tried to squirm out but I shut the front cage door again.
More terrifying behavior. When she quieted down for a few seconds, I let her out.
I'm not sure I want to go through that again. Maybe next time I should just continue to sit there feeding her treats, then let her out? Just go very very slowly...
Send me a pm and I'll tell you how it's done.
