What to do until class starts?

Gunner is almost 9 weeks old. The puppy class I want to sign him up for does not start until he is 13 weeks old. What should I be doing with him until then? Do I hold off on teaching commands?

Try to find out what is the best thing you can use to keep him focused on you. Is he food driven? What treats should you use? Is he toy driven? What toy should you use.

I start training the day the dog comes home. His name, following you (recall), tug/play games, leash training, impulse control for feeding, sit, down, touch (hand target with nose), etc.

I would absolutely not wait until 13 weeks or you're going to have a lot of catching up to do.
