7 week old ares. getting attention

hey guys i ares is now 7 weeks old, she got her first series of shots and has 3 more and a rabis one too go with deworming. i have a few concerns with her right now. 1 im not 100% sure she knows her name yet. sometimes she responds but i think its by pure chance. 2. she goes to the bathroom outside and all but when she goes outside she chews on rocks and just about anything, she goes inside her crate as well and licks up the urine, i constantly have to give her a bath. and 3. i have the hardest time getting her attention so i can try and show her some of the basic commands but thats hard to do, i also tried a clicker to get her attention but idk if that works either. all opinions and advice are welcome here thanks

Just make sure that you give her lots of treats all the time (her kibble should work fine as a treat). If she looks at you when you say her name, treat her. Also, puppies that young have a short attention span. She probably won't be interested in anything for longer than a minute or two.
I can't help with the eating rocks or licking pee because my pup hasn't done any of that. (She loves to get the pecans from the front yard. I have taught her the "drop it" command as well as the "leave it" command, and those work well for her now. She is 5 months old, though, so it has taken a while to get to this point.)

You have unrealistic expectations of a 7 week old puppy. The puppy should still be with it's littermates at 7 weeks.

She's a baby... my pup is almost 12 weeks old and not 100% housebroken. However, as long as I don't leave her in the crate for more than 4 hours she is NOT having accidents in there. Make sure you are doing the crate training properly --> http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...uppy-cage.html

Also, she's so young you should be making everything fun fun fun, short sessions of training knowing that she's got the attention span of a gnat. Have you see this --> http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...s-puppies.html

This link has tons of great info too... --> http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...imer-tips.html

ok, i read some of those articles, i guess i just need to let her be a puppy and train her slowly and be more patient. i used to have a german shepard when i was young but it was an adult, i just have to remeber she isnt an adult yet, but hopefully we will get there

For her name and gettign her attention.. just work on just that.. and I wouldn't even say "work" on it. Say her name randomly and when she looks, treat treat treat.. she should essentially be spoiled with treats, from you so that she understands you are good and give her things :) but obvioulsy for other things.. treating for potty outside, treat for when you call her name, etc.

For the sticks and rocks.. don't let her do that.. simple. Be out there with her, and stop her, give her a toy or chew, or don't let her be out there if you can't watch her.
