Martingale collar?

Is it okay to use a martingale collar on a young pup? I usually use one with our older rescues to prevent them slipping their collars. I just use it for leaving the house.

I don't see why not :)

I've used one on my pup from a very young age. Not as a corrective tool, but to prevent her from ever learning that fabulous "slip the collar" dance move dogs so commonly have.

Okay....I am not wanting to use it as a corrective tool either but I normally have 3 or more small kids with me so chasing a dog who slipped the collar is just not an option. I was thinking about it when we were at the vet today....today I carried Abby but in the future I want that extra security. But then know that corrective collars usually aren't to be used with young dogs.

Yep! They are very commonly used on young puppies. Very safe. :)

Okay thanks!! I will be getting one soon. Now I have to figure out when it is safe to take Abby out.
