I have a 8 to 10 week old, and she knows basic commands, such as sit and down. We walk her on a leash about a mile a day, (collar, not a harness). She really likes to pull against, and spin around and bite the leash itself, anyone have any ideas how to keep her from pulling so bad/biting the leash. Should I even expect that much from her being that young?
Is it kind of playful? Or she's really biting the leash? (Like aggressively?) when I walk my puppy outside and I know she is going to pull she is in a harness, when we are working obedience she is on collar, I think everyone will have different opinions but for me all drive (uncontrolled walking - because she is to young to heel properly, tracking or tiny bits of play/bite wrk) are on harness, I'd like her to understand the collar means we are working and I need her attention, but it can be hard to break a pulling habit if it was reinforced from a young age
