Default When is it time?

Hi Everyone! I just went this past Friday to pick out my puppy! He is currently 4 weeks old. I took my Husband & two Sons today to see him & make sure the kids love him. I want to put him in training for obedience training & then after we want to put him in protective training. I'm planning on going over to the breeders house every chance I get to start getting him used to me & start somewhat training him since he will be 8 weeks old when he will finally come home. My question is; when is it time to start training?

Here are some pictures from today..

I start training as soon as I bring home a new puppy. These books are available as free digital downloads, you just need to create an account: Free downloads | Dog Star Daily

The Dogstar Daily site has lots of good information - if you click on Training Textbook at the top of the page you'll have plenty reading to keep you busy until your puppy is old enough to come home. BTW, it's spelled shepHERD, being a herding breed.

Have you looked for a puppy class near you? I usually sign up for one that starts a few weeks after I get my puppy, after s/he's had at least the first two rounds of shots.
