Talking Flirt pole + fetch session =

Zonked by snowypony, on Flickr

Sorry the picture is poo, took it with my iPad, lol.

Had a GREAT training session today! We got down and wait learned in about 15 minutes then took it outside and practiced, sits, leave its and waits with fetch toy and flirt pole. Every time I'd give him the wait or leave it command he'd sit, look at me and wait for what I wanted next.

*BEAM*

Considering we had some major financial stuff come up the month after I brought Ollie home(totaling about 20 grand, yeah I'm not kidding), classes were put on hold so I've had to do all his training myself... Well with the help of Michael, Susan and a few others.

I'm a proud momma! Hopefully I'll be able to do some classes later on because I'm thinking about maybe trying agility or tracking(my pups grand sire was a champion tracker and his nose is ALWAYS to the ground).

Anyways GSD's can be so much fun to work with!

I think he's doing better, he's been to the vets and the vet couldn't feel anything wrong and Ollie didn't react to him moving his legs around but we are going to do X-rays when he's old enough. He's still cow-hocked and ever so slightly down on his hocks but he's improved A LOT since that hiking trip earlier this month... he's also a lot leaner now, I can now feel his ribs a little and see his last rib in certain positions.

This is the newest video I have of him from last week, I think he's even improved a little from then too. I keep the fetch and flirt pole stuff short but enough to tire him out and work those legs.

This is one reason I think my breeder is carefully crossing WGSL's and WL, I think she's working towards the goal of keeping the beauty of the SL but not having the horrible overstated slope backs. Plus also health and temperament, his temperament has been outstanding so far.

LOL, well that section of the yard is dedicated to our dogs so they can do what they want and also why there's no grass(well and plus we live in the desert and it rarely rains).

I want a puppy that sleeps!! He's seriously such a CUTIE!! I'm glad to hear his legs are doing better.

Your training is going really great! I'm seriously jealous! Grim needs some ritalin or something, LOL!

Thanks! Are you allowed to use a flirt pole with Grim? They are seriously awesome for tiring out puppies!
