Any advise on introducting the leash? I have heard to put the leash on and let the dog walk around in the house to get adapted to the feeling (supervised of course). Any other ideas or tricks to this? I don't want To always need a leash but it's a must when we are camping and taking walks in town (when the time comes).

Puppies may chew on a leash, so don't use an expensive one! I just clipped it on and said lets go, pup came along with me. If you are use to training off leash, then pup may not even notice that something is attached, because he'll follow you as usual. If a pup sits or balks, have yummy treats or a tug/ball to lure for a bit, keep it fun!

Tug is fun for a puppy! But when teething begins you have to stop for awhile. So a squeaky toy may be better during that time to engage pup.
Interaction with a ball on string, or tug is a great training tool...much more fun than treats. Synthetic Tug 12"-Elite K-9 Elite Working Balls with T-tug Handle-Elite K-9 Hallmark K9 - Premium Dog Training Equipment - BALLS Gappay Synthetic 2 handle tug 3x25cm |
