Default Shocked the family last night ...rant

Last night we were all watching TV in the family room. Kira was laying in a corner, sound asleep.

It was about midnight, and it was time for everyone to go upstairs, and call it a day.

So I say to my wife "watch this"....

I shut the lights, and say "OK, time for bed"....
Kira wakes up, goes into her crate, lets out her moan, and goes to sleep in her crate.

My family all stood there in amazement, and wondered how I trained her to understand "OK, time for bed"...

Don't tell anyone... but the REAL trick is Kira knows that shutting the lights means crate time at night.
It didn't matter what I said LOL

LOL! The fun part is when the family doesn't recognize the hidden cues!

A cue for my dogs is turning off the lights too.

However, during the winter especially, I spend a lot of time on the computer and any time I slide the keyboard shelf in it makes a clunk sound, and to them THAT means it is time to go outside. Can you imagine how many times they get up hearing me slide in the keyboard?? ROFL

Mine too! She hears that click and then she goes to the door to be let out one last time for the night.

Isn't it funny how they learn cues. Every morning we have the same routine....you know what makes my boys run to the door for first time out every day? Me going to the coffee pot and filling up my cup....they know that means we are going outside next. Like clockwork...I start pouring they run as quick as they can to the back door!

Yeah, same here. But, anytime I turn the TV off, they go to run up the stairs, even if I'm not going up there.

I always ask Sasha, "Is it time for bed?" and she goes and puts herself in my room. Also, she will put herself to bed if I'm up too late and then occasionally come out and grumble at me. lol
