I will be getting a new GSD puppy in ~1 week and I need to know what things I will want to start training
For example Just coming for a treat when clicker is pressed eye contact I don't know I really haven't had a dog before that was intelligent as a GSD |

As a puppy, I would begin working just on general engagement with you. But keep in mind the short attention span you're going to get with a young dog. Stuff along the lines of this.
The Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers I personally train with almost all of the methods used by Michael Ellis. There are tons of resources online to teach yourself how to train with his methods. He puts out tons of information and videos all the time. Good luck with your new pup!

There's something comical about reading a book about training while a pup is chewing on your shoe laces! Whatever you do, keep it light and happy, trust one day, this pup will be Rin Tin Tin-like in maturity, grace and presence. Enjoy every second, learn how to live in the now, as time flies by too quickly not to.
