Default Hows it coming with the new puppies?

My update on Beau, now 19 weeks
  • -well the obedience is not where I would hope but
  • --no housebreaking issues
  • --very good offlead on our offlead walks and can recall from distractions
  • --excellent at recall so far
  • --down and sit are solid in a non distracting environment; working on building duration
  • --"out" not so good if he has something really fun
  • -loosh leash walking is coming along. It is starting to click
  • --I am not getting bit anymore
  • --getting better at not jumping on me
  • --still wants to grab everything in the house that is loose; cant be trusted alone for 5 minutes
  • --excellent ball drive-a lot of drive development with ball and hunt drive
  • --holding back on tug though he started out good but teeth are developing-being gentle
  • --manners with other dogs - well he still wants to jump all over them. Not fearful or agressive but rowdy
  • --wide exposure to things of the world. Doing well with them. Not scared or cautious about anything we have found yet
So - not sure where we SHOULD be -- I have put more focus on some things than core obedience skills (the offlead walks and the ball play) So I imagine we are behind the 8 ball there but otherwise doing ok.

Where is everyone else?

Malice ~ No idea how many weeks old, she'll be 6 months on the 19th.

Good
~ We go for 1 final potty break before I go to work, she goes inside and goes and sits right by my bedroom door, I open it and she goes straight into her crate, I dont even need to say a word.

~ Potty trained
~ Knows "sit"
~ Stays in the yard
~ She knows "no"
~ No biting what so ever (she never did in the first place)
~ Loves to cuddle
~ Just started letting me sleep in past 7:00am last weekend
~ Not jumping as much as she used to

Bad
~ Will pee when she gets excited
~ Started chasing the cats
~ Drips water everywhere
~ Still jumps up
~ Cant seem to get "lay down"
~ Bark, bark, bark

Wendy Darling - 16 weeks old

Pros
- has socialized quite well after being unsocialized at the breeder. Likes new people, and will be friendly with everyone once I tell her it's okay

- learning the walk etiquette quite nicely, no more severely tangled leashes now I can untwist them quickly

- Will TOUCH if called. Proud of that accomplishment

- has a solid sit (not looking good with stay unless it's waiting for me to open the front door after a walk)

- Sleeps for exactly 8 hours every evening. EXACTLY! I put her to bed at 8:45 - she is making noise at 4:45. My alarm goes off at 5......

Cons

- Chews on EVERYTHING and has learned to pull on my tablecloth in order to make more chewables available. Great fun.

- one wee wee accident per day; doesn't give us enough time to answer the potty bell at the back door - she rings it, and pees right there.

- Loves shoes

- Would really like to get a hold of one of the cats for a good sniff and tussle

Not really a shadow dog, but then, she prefers to chase Bailey around instead of us - we are working on it, but I can still pee alone.... unsupervised.

Rocket: Will be officially 6 months old on Dec 15th, (is 24 by weeks)

--Is excellent with other dogs. Even ones that have tried to bite his face, he's responded calmly and without aggression.
--Is 100% reliable regarding potty training.
--Sleeps out of crate without issue.
--Has never jumped.
--Still biting a bit; his new thing is when you go to pet/stroke him, if he's playful he wants to engage your arm or hand. Any suggestions on this? I've been clicking and treating for not doing this when petted. (It's just play, I'm sure of this)
--Has recalled off deer and dogs. This has not been tested on deer in an open field, however. Just brush.
--Still gets way too excited over the cats. Sigh.
--Is starting to exhibit some "teenage" behavior, such as stopping 3/4's of the way with his ball and looking at me like "Chase me!"
--Will bark at the horses and the dogs that border our property. Not constantly, but sometimes for a few minutes.
--When in close proximity with a new dog (or familiar dog at class) he is getting big enough that he is hard to control, and no food seems to draw his attention. Trying to use the dog as the reward.
--Trying to teach the LAT game, but I don't think I'm being clear enough. Seems to be slow progress in understanding the "look".

Geminon will be 6 months on dec. 14 and:

Good stuff:
*is great with his commands
*much better with the potty outside rather then inside
*biting it getting much better justa few times a week rather then 50 times in a day
*much calmer and relaxed
*im able to move aorund the house and do things without going into "attack play mode

bad stuff:
*barks at anyone and everything even if he knows the person/dog really well
*still tries to pull a little on walks
*chews on the sofa and carpet and table
*still has a potty accident every once in a while
*come when call recall still not the best
