Hello,
I'm writing this on behalf of my dad who is having this issue (if it is an issue). Our girl is a wee over 5 months now. Last time my dad takes her out for her to pee varies between 9-10p. Then he goes to sleep. Athena sleeps in her crate. Every so often, she'll start whining around 2a, wake him up and want to pee again. Other times it's 4a. Sometimes she'll sleep outside her crate. My dad doesn't mind if she does or doesn't but if she doesn't, she'll nudge him to wake up around 2a or 4a that she wants to go outside. My dad leaves the water out all the time and I can't emphasize enough how much this girl loves to drink water. Could this be resolved if my dad puts the water bowl away when it's time to go to bed? Also, how long can puppies hold it at 5 months? What recommendations do you have to keep your puppy happy and sleep nicely through the night.

I go to bed around 9-10 so I take water away from my puppy between 7-8. She sleeps through the night without a peep.

I have to agree with what others have said. Take the water away an hour or two before bed time. Dax absolutely loves water. As in he would drink a full liter of it a day when he was 8 weeks old, so trust me, I know it seems mean, but it is perfectly fine to take it away.
