Default Another puppy/dog?

Hello All, just became a member.. I have 1,5 yrs old georgous Czech line female GSD, she has never been inside home, she has her own garden as well.
You may know, this breed is very energetic. She gets bored and I feel like she needs someone with her more. Unfortunately, like most of you, can not spend enough time. So, I am thinking a male one from same breed. But people are saying when they are 2 it will be harder for me to train properly (I also have little time to train) as they have eachother. Also, I am hearing that my girl may get jealous when we have the second one and may feel depressed.
Any of you have any experience about getting second dog/puppy in house?

Thanks.

Unless you're willing to bring them both in the house, I wouldn't even consider adding a second.

If you don't have enough time for one, why would you consider two? And most of us here DO have enough time to spend with our dogs.
Why does she never come in the house? Most people on this forum, their dogs live in the house, not outside.

I agree with the above statements,,especially, and will repeat, if you don't have time for your first one, to get another to keep that dog company is NOT a reason to get one.

NEVER get another dog just for your existing dog. Specially if the reason you know you don't really have the TIME for the dog you have!

Much better to take the $$$$$ you'll save from NOT buying another dog, NOT feeding another dog, NOT having to vet another dog.................... and work out your schedule to take that money to find some type of wonderful dog classes you can take with your current dog.

You'll love and bond much more with that dog with this training. And maybe it will calm because you will now have her able to be a PART of your life so she can go places with you. The socialization and exercise that will give will make her much calmer when you get home. Plus then if you can have her IN the home more it will be even better!

Everything is connected. What you do with your dog and what you fail to do. Take out your schedule/calendar and make the dog a PRIORITY in your life as any living thing in your home should be. Once you put in the proper time to train and bond, it's amazing how smoothly our dogs can then fit into our lives and stop being our biggest problem.

I agree with everyone above.

Do not get another dog if you can not spend enough time with the dog you already have.

How many hours a day do you spend with her? How much exercise does she get?

Thanks for the posts everyone.. nope, my dog will never be in house, you may think the otherwise but a dog's place especially a wolf breed should never been inside a house. If you put her, of course she will survive.. She is also a watchdog dor the land/property for unwanted people.. Her place is outside where she has to be naturally.. I know many of you are living in the house with your pets, but I do not agree on this, maybe a pincher could live, otherwise no way..

Not much time may change from person to person.. I can not play with her as a play partner that another dog could be.. that is what I am asking.. we are spending around 6-8 hours a day with her, most of this is exercising and walking.. we are living in an open area, large empty land surrounding..

Please while you are writing a reply to my question, just address 'if' you have any experience, thats all I asked. Please dont judge a person when he writes 'not enough time'.. dont worry, we are doing our best.. we are just asking if another dog will be good for her life..

Thanks.

ALL BREEDS are "wolf breeds". Do you not know of genetics?

Dogs used to live outside mostly, yes. Because they were working dogs, and their people spent 10-12 hours a day BY THEIR SIDE WORKING WITH THEM.

This is no longer the case. Your dog is bored because she's not getting enough training, interaction. If you have 6-8 hours a day with her, why can you not train her and socialize her? Training is best done in small increments a day. Even 15 minutes 3x's a day is only 45 minutes.

Getting another dog will only encourage bad habits when they're not properly socialized and trained. They will bond only to each other, become more "wild" and you can then pat yourself on the back and say "See? They're a "wolf" breed--they are wild!" Thusly, creating a self-fufilling prophecy.

It's not good to be keeping her outdoors, no matter what you think about where dogs should "naturally" live. So having a second dog and keeping them both outdoors is not a good idea either.

I don't think you're going to get much support for your ideas here, most of us believe our dogs are happier and healthier when they live indoors, with us.

Why would it be okay for a Doberman to live in the house and not a German shepherd? They're just as closely related to wolves as Dobermans - and Chihuahuas, terriers, Dachshunds, etc.

They're not wolves anymore. German shepherds have been bred to work with and live by their people. Not to live outdoors by themselves. My guess is that she's protecting what she feels is her territory from strangers. If someone's harming you? She probably couldn't give two ****s less, as long as they're not bugging her.

Another dog wouldn't be good for her, but maybe a family that is willing to spend time with her would be.
