Default Potty Problem

Gunny is about nine weeks old and was brought into our home last Saturday. From the time we got him he had a couple of accidents (pee) but typically whined and jumped around our door when he needed to potty. Yesterday my dad was supposed to be watching him but obviously wasn't and Gunny pooped on our floor. I cleaned it up and took him outside where he finished his business, but later yesterday evening he did it again in the same place. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this?

Your pup can probably smell were he pooped if it wasn't cleaned properly. Make sure to use an enzyme stain and odour remover like Nature's Miracle on the spot. This will take away the smell.

Also, be sure to take your pup to potty when he wakes up, after playing, and shortly after eating.

Will it take the smell out even a day or two after it happened?

Yes, it should. Just pour it onto the spot and let it soak in.

Or you can use white vinegar and water--works just as well and costs much less.

Forgive me for sounding preachy but a 9 week old puppy needs constant supervision if you hope to house train him quickly.
Congratulations on your new family member!

Agree - 9 weeks is realllly young to expect full housebreaking skills! Take him out, take him out, take him out. And watch like a hawk in between.
Don't just plop him out the door, walk around with him and make sure he goes, then reward for going outside.
