I have 8 week female puppy i know at that age she is teething so i got her a bunch of toys to chew on. The problem is when i give her the toy she bites it for a second than goes for the fingers i tell her NO than she starts to bark and snap at me. As I tell her NO it gets worse like she is saying forget you i will bite you anyways. She would much rather bite my hand than her toys. Any other way of correcting this issue.

I'm having the same issue also, my male is 8 weeks old. I tried the ignoring and saying ' ouch' but it doesn't work haha. He gets more hyper and starts biting worse. The issue is trying to train so he knows the difference between human flesh and a toy.
So far the only method that seems to work is closing his muzzle, and let him whine. I know it sounds mean, but he seems to understand that more. And also a spray bottle, when he doesn't bite me or he bites his toys I give him positive reinforcement. |
