Default pooping in cage

Please help!!

Luna is 12 weeks old and poops in her metal cage every night. Things we have done to help stop the problem.

1-put a divider in crate
2-take her out twice a night
3- she eats dinner at 6:00
4- praise and gets a treat every time she does outside.
5-no water after 7:00
6- clean crate very good every day with a pet cleaner

Besides this problem Luna and The Judge are having a great time together.

I am so sorry the issue you are having.
You seem to be doing everything correctly.
We had a Labrador who had no problem whatsoever peeing and pooping in her crate until almost 5 months of age. Then one day she just stopped and never did again.

Buy lots of Pinesol?

I would feed her much earlier than 6, as in around 3-4 see how that goes

I have read that I should not place a towel in crate. So I will try that also.

I dont think the towel would make any difference..she's still pretty young and well, when they gotta go they gotta go

I normally feed especially a puppy, EARLY, and last time out is around 10pm,,I've been pretty lucky that usually they will be ok till about 5am.

I think feeding a meal before 6 is going to be hard on a young pup...you may get the yellow bile barf instead of the poop in the crate.
I would take the pup out at midnight then again at 4 am.(feeding the last meal at 6ish.
If pup continues to poop with that, then she'll just have to outgrow it and get onto the regular pooping schedule.
At least she isn't eating it! That is a much harder habit to break.

For intact females, I'm told eating it is instinctual. My female does. If she poops the kennel (her anxiety response) she will keep it clean by eating it (barf!)
