Vintage German Shepherd book - check it out !

Just after I got Karma my mum mailed this gem to me from Australia. So typical of my mum and why I love her so much !

In it was a little hand written note saying she had seen this in a bookshop and "though it might help you with the pup !" . She paid $5 for it.

This book was witten by Madeline Miller,printed in 1955 by TFH Publications in New Jersey and originally sold for 35c.

The dedication reads ;

" For Harry Radford. This book is dedicated to man of great stature in the dog world". ( I have googled his name but cannot find anything ? )

It's a great book for 50s nostalgia with plenty of classic photos in it. I was expecting to turn the page at any moment and see The Fonz on his bike

I believe in this photo Pottsy and Ralph Malph have picked up the girl to go cruising and she is telling the dog to stay !

The book is in near perfect condition and is for sale at $450,000 or near offer. Please pm me.

I surely don't like the advice on those pages...but the pics are worth the price, for sure!

HAHAHA!! I can't believe they moved it to trades and sales!!

The book does look pretty cool, except for the whole "severely punish your dog" advice. I'm not really crazy about that part. But I keep telling myself that was a very different time. The pictures are great though!!!

I love old books, specially the smell. I treasure my first dog book, bought with my pocket money I saved for weeks. It is about GSDs but I bought it for the training section, before I met the working lines and when I didn't liked GSDs yet. that book is from the 80ths, so not that old as yours, even when some advice is old to nowadays standards... 30 yeas for a book is something.
