Default New venue, first IL trial

Sort of cross posting from the upcoming events section.....in case anyone has questions about SDA tracking.

Rock River Dogsport club in Rockford, IL will host several SDA Tracking trials this fall, with the first one being on Friday, October 31. No bonus points for tracking in costume of course

SDA Tracking rules can be found at http://www.servicedogsofamerica.com/...tracking.html. SDA tracking is open to all breeds, including mixes. Handlers must be SDA members, but NO special registration is required for the dog. There is an error on the SDA website - the Family Obedience is NOT required before entering SDA tracking.

No certification track required. Schutzhund handlers looking at fall SchH trials may enjoy entering SDA tracking due to the similarity of our T1 to a SchH1 track - it's a great chance to earn a title while also "trying out" your dog's readiness. The cover may be higher than what is typically found in Schutzhund trials, so make sure to ask if that would be of concern to you.

Thanks Christine. I have book marked that site for future reading. I am truly interested in this but there are not dogsport organizations out here. Hoping to find one soon or work on starting one unless we get move orders......

Do you have any tracking clubs near you? There is no reason an existing group couldn't become licensed to do these too. You can be a "Tracking ONLY" club - you don't have to do everything.........

Sometimes people think they have to do the obedience and protection too, but they don't. You can just offer tracking (and I bet the same people would enjoy the article search titles as well). Same applications to form a club, you just specify what you want to do.
