Default tracking dogs getting better with age?

So, what does everyone think about dogs getting better at tracking as they get older? Has anyone ever worked a tracking dog from a young age to old, continuously in a competitive environment (FH, VST, TDX, StP, etc)?

My gut says any dog that spends close to a decade in a tracking/scent sports would be quite good, even if entering the early phases of physical decline.

Does anyone have any personal experience?

Have there been any really old dogs competing in the National or World Championships for IPO-FH?

So, no one, has had a healthy, older shepherd, that continued competitive tracking, into their twilight years?

What about cross venue trained dogs, doing AKC, FCI, etc?

I laid tracks for a 12 year old LE K9, and that dog was amazing. I know how to throw off a dog, and I couldn't shake him in 4 hours of laying track. He is a Mal, now retired. We called him gray face

He was a monster once he found you too.

While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.
