Default Broken lightbulbs

Someone told me the other day that to get a tracking dog off your trail you can break a light bulb and leave it on the trail and when the dog smells it his nose will be messed up and unable to track you anymore.
I have never heard of this before, anyone know if this is true?

Um, I don't think so . . . . I've seen dogs track around/through broken fluorescent bulbs, and notice/investigate a broken streetlight bulb before returning to the track.

Oh I doubt it. I have heard people claim that if you walk in a big spiral you will mess up a tracking dog, walking through water, wearing a scent proof suit etc. None of those things work. Drug dogs train in stuff hidden in gas tanks and can smell through the gasoline (which does coat the sinuses).........
