The birds are stealing my food drops!!

Tracking on sandy surface, near the ocean, but the seagulls and crows keep stealing my food drops. Any suggestions (other than starting earlier in the morning)?


I thought Maggie was ignoring the food drops and concentrating on the track, only to realize on the way back that there were no food drops. Luckily I had some hotdog on me when she found the article. Interestingly enough she stayed right on track to the end, without the drops. The birds were an interesting distraction, she thought about chasing a few seagulls on track but went back to tracking after I encouraged her with a "find it".

I've found that burying them a little bit, at least enough so the gulls can't see them but not so much that the dog has to start digging, is a big help.
