Tracking from the Beginning by Gary Patterson is a good one(SchH)
If you are in a club, usually the TD or other members will help guide you with laying scent pads and short tracks. |

For Sch type stuff, "Tracking Dog", I think the author is Glen Johnson, off the top of my head.
Good overall book, "Training the Competitive Working Dog" by Barwig/Hilliard For hard surface tracking, HITT Method, by Steve White.
