So I have been looking around and after getting help and advice from some people, Stoli and I will start tracking on saturday!! I am super excited I think he is really going to enjoy it plus it will be something we can do anytime once we (and by that I mean me) figure it all out. So expect multiple questions on the sport in the future and a lot of "I have no idea what I'm doing" type posts lol
That being said....what does everyone suggest I have on hand that day she said to bring a treat/food he really loves but that was about it. I figure the basics like water will also be needed we're meeting for an hour on Saturday since she said it will be a lot of talking mostly. |

Love your enthusiasm! Since Gabe is teething I had to stop bite work with him so we are doing some beginning basic scent work for tracking. It's so boring to me, if anything makes me stop schutzhund it will be the tracking portion. It's great to see enthusiasm towards it!
![]() Make sure you don't feed him before you go. He needs to be hungry. Yes take yummy treats and plenty of water. The club I am working with has us (new pups) use a little wire flag (you know the ones utilities mark with) and you will set up a small scent area around it. It doesn't take long before your pup will see that flag and know what he's about to do. They will walk you through it. Have fun! |

well it was hit or miss and to be honest we aren't working on it anymore. Stoli is not food driven at all so it made it pretty difficult to get him motivated and keep his attention to the task. He was so so at first and then would be awesome and totally focused...then not at all it was pretty frustrating we tried it for a few months and then gave it up...i just recently started looking into new classes we could do to found a beginners agility we may try next....
