Default Tracking harness recommendations

Max and I have joined a German Shepherd enthusiast club in my local area with a focus on obedience, tracking and schutzhund work for the dogs that have the drive. Max appears to lack any drive for schutzhund work, but I would like to invest in a harness for the tracking work. Can anyone recommend a good all-around padded dog harness that is suitable for tracking and, if Max shows the drive, could be used as a basic agitation harness?

Max is a recently rescued GSD and I am trying to keep him involved in some training for confidence building and to give him opportunities that he did not have for the first four years of his life.

Bridgeport equipment has a nice tracking harness that I use. The original tracking harness is nice and well made and real adjustable.

I use the Gappay leather padded agitation harness.
I did buy the Gappay tracking harness also (from Hallmark K9) but it broke directly across the leather chest strap. Would not recommend it.

I also have the Bridgeport tracking harness that I use for protection only: https://www.bridgeportequipment.com/...x?productId=96 It is well made and very strong for the cost!

For tracking I use a fursaver only.

My dog relates the harness going on his body as getting ready to do bitework/ I wonder if it would be confusing to your dog to use the same equipment for both areas of training.
I personally don't see the reason to use a harness for tracking.

I don't track with a harness either, but the Bridgeport Equipment harness is excellent. Great quality for a fair price. I use it for bitework.

I also recommend the Bridgeport harnesses.

Depends on the venue. If AKC tracking, a harness is required, so there's no option to not use one.

We use the H6 harness @ Dog harness , Dog collar , Dog leash , Dog muzzle - Dog training equipment from Trusted Direct Source - Home, Dog Supplies basically because it's similar to the one the police use in this area. If Josh gets to be a cop (fingers crossed) he'll already be used to the harness.

I 3rd (or 4th or 5th, lol) the Bridgeport harness.. again, I don't track my dog on a harness either, but the leather quality and the price of Bridgeport's stuff is absolutely outstanding! I love ordering from them

As Chris mentioned, in AKC tracking, a harness is required and if I were to ever go that route with my dog, I would likely use one of those lightweight nylon harnesses they sell in pet stores so that my dog didn't feel impeded and "weighted down", if you will.
