Looking for some potential training partners in the NH/New England area once spring finally gets here who might want to meet up periodically to lay stranger/unknown tracks for one another. I lean more toward a police dog style track, hard surface/grass/vegetation/wooded/road crossings, etc.
I'm guessing some other people with police dog style tracking needs/interest/VST type people must be out there somewhere. Maybe we can have a meetup group of sorts every once in a while. If you are someone who is just into dogs, and would like to be a guinea pig, and have some exposure to tracking, go for a walk, and sit tight until found, that would work too. Hahaha It's a plus if you are into bitework as well, but friendly finds will suffice ![]() PM me if you are interested...thanks!

Well, I've been known to travel when it comes to training.
NH is not so far from CT...lets see where the thread goes...Most of my bitework people are not into tracking...

Tim, I noticed in your signature you reference K9's.
If your agency has a reserve unit, they are often willing to help with that kind of stuff. I worked for a Sheriff's Office so our reserve and posse was fairly good sized and all of us K9 handlers would get together and throw them a BBQ and get a keg for them after they helped us out for a day or so. Just an idea.

@ Carmspack: Thanks, I actually know the head of their unit, but can't train with them on their usual training days due to my current work assignment.
Many other K9 units in my area don't (or are not allowed to) train outside their specified, assigned training days, or when they are off duty. I also work my dogs as a source of recreation, so I like to branch out and train outside the LE circles as much as I can. I've found there's a whole lot of value to training "outside the box".
