TDX test was today. My girl started great, first turn, she must have indicated left three times at least. I DIDN'T GO!!!!!!!!
For the life of me I can't really tell you why I didn't! That was an expensive training session and the one needing training is me! Egads is all I can say. Track Paralysis is not a good thing! We will try again. Later the judge offered to take the dog off my hands, twice. Probably feeling sorry for the old girl! Four TDX tracks, four didn't pass today. The two TD trackers did get their title though!

Oh man I am sorry!!!! I actually did the same thing to Havoc on his first TD attempt. I didn't go with him and for the life of me I don't know why. Now you get to go home train some more which can only benefit you and try again.
The TDX is very hard to pass! I know I have a great tracker and I feel like lady luck was on my side when Kayos passed on her second attempt.

Samba,
It is a wonder our dogs still love us. I did the same thing when I did my first FH. The lessons learned in trials are often the ones that stay with us the longest.

I think the lesson I learned is that I can be really dumb out there! I don't even want to tell you I let the line out 40 ft and the dog went straight out that far on the leg.... and still I didn't go! The judges had to physically take hold of me and turn me in the correct direction. I am beginning to wonder if I don't have a disorder! The dog was tracking all the time. UGH!!!
![]() Poor dogger..... puleez go this way Mum!!!!! Of course, the dog can track and I think the test things are more for us. Can we train and handle to such a level, etc. It was an interesting experience, and I am sure it had to happen for some good reason...... to be revealed later down life's road!!!

You know those are the times when we learn to really trust the dog.
Kayos passed the TD twice. We had entered twice, made both draws, but he last test (GSD Nationals) did not fill so I decided since I would lose my entry I would go any way just for fun (and I wanted the silver plate from the Nationals!). She already had the title, earned it a week before. Pressure was off........ sure it was. It was a much harder track. A heavy equipment operator ran his bulldozer over the first turn on her track and really tore up the ground. She worked very hard on the turn and I almost did not trust her. But my brain said she already has the title who cares if she fails today. I went with her after she showed me- BEGGED ME -4 times to follow her. We passed and after that first turn there was no stopping her. The judge was funny after the test, it was the same judge that had passed us the week before too. She said she was afraid she would have to go out and push me after the dog. She also said technically the track should not have been used as the damage accurred after the track had been laid. But she knew the dog could track and there was no alternate track due to space. I think my reluctance taught me as well as Kayos, she really insists now if I am reluctant. I mean the look on her face is absolute impatience "COME ON WILL YOU!!!" ![]()
