Default Tracking in wet, tall & thick cover

So I hadn't been feeling well at all today, and walking around in soaking wet grass and brush up to my knees isnt usually something I would be happy about, but I took Shane out tonight just because I know I need to get him out tracking in the rain.

So the field we tracked in tonight was the hardest cover we'd ever done before, it was soaking wet, very thick and very tall (over Shane's shoulders). I was worried it how he would do, so I laid a shorter track than we had been doing (280 yards) and only 2 turns. I let it age 35 minutes.

This turned out to be one of his best tracks! He did an amazing job and wasnt bothered at all at being submerged in wet grass the whole time. He even ignored coyote poop that was on the track! He didnt even stop to notice it, he was so into the track.

here's some pics i took with my phone

the field

you can see the top of a flag here, to show how tall the grass was

And after we finished. Shane sitting next to the start of the field, this was probably the shortest grass there

Great job!!

I haven't been out in about a week or so because I have been so busy and sick with the worst cold ever!

I hope to get back out there this weekend.

Shane is doing so great!

I always try to look for post from you to see how he is coming along with his Tracking, I love watching/hearing about him work!
