ready for certification?
The trainer says we are ready. Tooz can do it...but her handler??? That's the scary part!
Waiting for emails back from judges....

Ok....judge just got back to me. We have an appointment for August 22nd! Now if I can just fit in a 150 tracking lessons before then!
 What is the typical fee? I have heard everything from $20-50.

Well I never paid any fee. Depends on the judge. They can ask a small fee but if they don't you might offer to pay for their gas. I took the judge out to lunch when Kayos certified.
. Whn I certified Havoc it was at a match and the entry fee for the match was $10. That money was given to the club to help cover expenses for the annual AKC tracking test. I would do some short fun tracks and an occassional long one. Remember to trust your dog.

Because of Tooz's recent injury, I will most likely have to cancel our appointment with the judge.

When we certified, I gave her a 25 gift cert to a restaurant. She almost didn't take it - saying she had meant to tell me no fee. Our certification was amazing - while Gracie did well, I didn't but the judge gave me so many pointers and I was able to use all of them at the TD. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

99.9% of the judges are great. They do this because they love tracking and love helping trackers. They are not in this for money and those that ask a small fee are usually just looking to compensate for gas or to support a club.
