Hello, I was reading a post about a tracking evaluation and was wondering what happens at the evaluation? I could not find any information on the AKC website about it, nor did it come up in any google search. Does a dog get evaluated where they are testing for tracking? What are the dogs evaluated on? Thank you!

I think the poster on that thread had been evaluated by a trainer to see if her dog would be a good candidate for a training program to track. There is no "evaluation" by AKC for a dog to teach it to track. The only evaluation AKC requires is a certification before you can enter your trained dog in a test.
