Once again, I was writing a message, previewed it, was satisfied, hit "submit" and was told I had forgotten to fill a required field...recipient, subject, whatever...and to hit my "back" button to correct the error. What it actually means is that it doesn't like you and you have to back to "Start Over" ****. There is NO way to recover that post you labored over and was totally awesome!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. ![]() OK. I feel better. Just had to rant. Is there any way to adjust software settings to fix this, or is it an intended punishment for stupidity? Jude |

Jude,
I don't think there is a way to "fix" this but what I tend to do is highlight and copy the text BEFORE I hit the submit button - especially if it's something that took me awhile to type. Or, I'll use Word to type my posts (and spell check ) and then copy and paste it here.

Jude I have done the same thing but of course it is always when I type a long message. I love Lauri's idea and will have to try it.

If it's a short post (like this reply) I don't bother. But if it's longer and I want the ability to edit easier (and spellcheck) - I use Word.

With Firefox, this does not happen. I can go backwards and forwards and not lose any of my post. Used to happen all the time in IE. I still do copypaste long posts just in case.

On my Mac at home using Safari I can go back and forth and not lose anything either. Sometimes I'll copy it first, just in case.
Just today on my PC using IE I lost a post. I didn't even click the back button, I hit something else by accident and it bumped me back several pages. When I went forward again, everything was gone.

I usually compose in Notepad but sometimes I forget.
I use Firefox. I can go back and forth without losing anything EXCEPT when I am creating a new thread or PM and hit the submit button when I have forgotten to fill in the subject. I'm much calmer today. Thanks for the responses. I'm sure it's not fixable, but I just had to vent.
