Default Can we please have a "Journal" forum for our pups?

Hi,

I would and I'm sure other members would love to have a forum here to keep a journal of our new pup to include photos, training progress, etc... where we can keep all of the information in one post and to also read and follow the progress of others and their pups.

Can we please have a "Journal" forum? Pretty please?

And if you do, please move my post under pictures to that forum

Thanks!

Alex

Start a blog and link to it...

I think there's a forum member that did that at one point, not sure if they kept up with it.

You can use the General Puppy section of the board - as long as you keep posting, it keeps your post bumped up to the top of the section. General Puppy Stuff people have used that in the past.

Alexis, I have your blog bookmarked already and have been reading it

Jean. I just thought it would be nice to have a journal section so we can follow our pups as well as others. The general puppy section would suffice, but it would be mixed up with a lot of other topics. I'd love to see how others are progressing with their pups, how their coats change as they age, what milestones they reach and when and if we had a Journal section, it would be easier to find those types of posts and might make people post more often Even the freshwater fish boards I'm a member of have journal sections for our tanks

I've noticed a few new sections being created/moved lately, so thought I would mention it

The problem with adding sections is that unless they are really specific and don't fit any other category, posts get spread all over the place which means that threads are more likely to get lost or go unnoticed, and it makes a lot more work for a moderating staff that already is stretched thin at times.

How about the Stories section? That seems to go hand in hand with the idea of journals. We could even add "Journals" to the title of that section.

Maybe whoever is in charge could enable the vBulletin Journal feature? I'm on another (HUGE!) vBulletin forum and there's actually a specific Journal for each member, if they choose to use it.

Chris, I didn't consider the moderation aspect of a new section. Adding "Journals" to stories would work too Pretty much just looking for a spot for those of us who would like to keep a journal, to keep one. Somewhere that actually says Journals, so hopefully most of them are created there. Rather than like you said, them being spread out all over the place. I see bits and pieces of what could be a journal all over searching through the various sections...
I know a few other members who are getting or just recently got new pups and it would be nice to follow their trials and tribulations as well

Liesje,

That's actually what I was referring to originally, but couldn't remember the term. But after thinking about it, it might be better to have a place for all of them. So this way, you can just browse other journals, rather than having to look at each members profile to see if they have one, as we all know, not everyone will take advantage of it.
