Are Mals allowed in monthly photo contest?

According to the rules, I'm guessing no:

Are people in favor of allowing Mals and/or Mal x GSDs in the contest? Since this is the "Suggestion" forum, my suggestion is to allow them.

(Yes, I realize this is a GSD forum. Seems there's plenty of Mal owners here though.)

He is a pomeranian, not a mini GSD. A malinois on the other hand is actually in the same family as a GSD. It's at least a shepherd, albeit a belgian.

Willy, I doubt they will change the rules. Mals can't be posted in rescue either and I once was admonished for posting in the critique area asking about my mals confirmation. The entire thread was even moved to another area, chat I think?? I kind of quit posting pics of my dogs at that point.

There isn't a really good mal forum that I've seen. I wish, at the very least, that this forum had a mal subforum or one dor belgians in general. There are a ton of mals here lately.

Exactly. I have also searched for a good Mal forum and haven't come up with much. With the fair number of Mal owners here, I suppose this is the best Mal forum.

Hey now - he's been voted as an honorary GSD.

But I can understand why they want to keep it JUST GSDs.

If they allow malis, how long before people with other similar breeds try to get them grandfathered in? After a while, it'd be a general dog forum (likely for herding breeds), rather than a GSD forum.

The alterations rule probably restricts 85% of photos anyway, even pure GSDs. I've never been able to do a photo contest b/c of the rules.
