Smile new member message

It has been a while since I joined, and if you are already doing something like this, or if it is not practical, I apologize.
When a new member signs in and send their first hello, do they get an automatic message or email that welcomes them to the site with some helpful hints? The site has been invaluable to me, but I asked some questions and posted them that could have been easily answered by searching the site first. I am not bothered by all the ear postings, but do know that the info is easily found by searching.
I understand that all this info is found with little effort. It just takes a few searches and looking around the site a bit. The only reason I think it would be helpful is that when someone is expecting a new pup, or they just found the site and their GSD has an issue, the excitement lends itself to immediately signing in and posting a question.
The message would be as you see fit. Maybe a brief hello and some instructions on how to get needed help and how to search a thread for quick answer to their question.
Just a suggestion. Love the site. Thanks

Hmmmm...that's a neat idea. Is there an email with the registration? I sent this to Shepherds, the board owner's administrator.

I would also suggest that before a 1st post is allowed the admin or mods review that 'first' post.
It would help keep the spammers from putting up post after post all over the board.
