Uploading Pictures.

One thing I find worth changing is how we upload photos. If you click on the picture box when making a post, you have to provide a link. This means we have to have our photos online somewhere. This is actually a pretty old method of photo sharing that's been replaced by more "economical" ways of doing it, which is what I suggest...

I think if you click on the photo icon, you should have an uploader tool appear so you can upload pictures directly from your computer, and not have to worry about finding some image hosting website to put them on beforehand.

Like you, I don't like the hassle of uploading externally. However, if members uploaded all of their pictures (think of how many get posted each week) on this site, the server space cost would be fairly large. It could be purely economical as to why the current system is in place.

There is an easier way.
In the message box:
Click on Go Advanced
Select the paper clip
Use the Manage attachments to access your pictures from your computer
Select the upload button
Return to your Reply and click on the paper clip again and select
your photo files.

There IS an uploader tool. When making a post on an existing thread, click "Go Advanced" then scroll down and press the "Manage Attachments" button. When creating a new thread, the "Manage Attachments" button is there from the start.

The reason it is the way it is now is because this forum used to not have a way to upload photos. People got into the habit of hosting externally. Once the forum was bought out (or something like that) and the photo hosting became available- people still continued to use the external hosting. There is nothing stopping anyone from using the forum's hosting though.

[EDIT]- This clause in the board rules may also cause some to host externally.

ANYTHING posted or uploaded on Germanshepherds.com (images, text) allows the owners of the site to use in any way at their discretion and/or allows the site owners to remove or edit at their discretion.

Am using my iPad an it won't let my upload pic to my album any one know another way

you probably have a pc as well..what i do is email them from ipad to myself..then take them from pc email & save them on desktop or folders..then you can upload..
maybe there is another way but this does me..
