Default first in last to be seen

Why is it that the site shows the most recent reply to a post first and you must scroll down to the very end of all messages of the post to see what the original post is? surely , no other site does this and it is very annoying and what could possibly be the purpose. when someone opens up a post. the first post should show and then etc etc till the most recent post shows at the end not at the front end

Mine's just the opposite. OP first and then answers, oldest to newest. You must be able to change it.

Back out to active topics, click on your user cp on the left side of the screen. Scroll down to edit options. It will be in there. I just fixed it myself.

Click "user CP" at the top, then click "edit options" on the left.
Scroll down to "thread display options". Under "thread display mode" change the options (on the drop down menu) to "Linear - Oldest First". Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "save changes".
