Default Suggestion- Banned Corkboard

In other words- it would be nice to have a forum that indicates:
  • When a person is banned
  • How long they are banned
  • For what reason they were banned

Might look something like this:
Quote:
User: JoeSchmoe
Date: 9/5/2011
Span: One Week
Reason: Inappropriate language
Some people got banned recently and I am not sure why. It would be great to have an area where I could learn why so that I can better understand the board rules, or at least- how mods/admins choose to enforce said rules.

And sometimes it says banned and they've only been suspended. Why can't it say suspended instead of banned?

I'm not sure it's anyone's business why someone gets banned. The rules are pretty straight forward.

eta: Suspended or Banned would be nice to know though.

Good point Linda- it would appear that most of the time it is a suspension- not a ban. How would we know? Currently- we can't.

Does it matter? Other than your own morbid curiosity?

Although suspended vs. banned would be nice to know if you need to contact someone for some reason.

Not entirely untrue, I admit. But, if I take part in a thread then the thread is my business. If I am in a conversation with someone on that thread, and now they are banned/suspended- it kind of is my business since I was having a conversation with that person.

Perhaps a thread with such info might be over the top. Perhaps a better idea would be for the user subtitle (where it typically says "banned") to be accurate in "suspension- x days" vs "banned."

I don't think they're really going to give a reason why and I agree it's not really our business (other than curiosity). But, differentiating whether it's a permanent ban or just a suspension would be nice.

I'm not sure the software has a suspension thing, that's why you will see 'banned' vs suspension.

If someone is on suspension or banned, they can't access their pms here, so that would be out..but most have their own email addy's on their Personal profile..so I guess if one wished to contact someone under a suspension/ban they could look there, and email them personally??
