It use to be that PM's were considered too private for mods to get involved with. Cussing, name calling. It was fair game in a PM.

Maybe that changed, though. It must have, if PM's have a notify button.

There was another thread this morning - the one about rehoming dogs. She was ranting and raving about how the government should pay to sterilize her and other TMI...

On another thread kept bringing up last nights thread and was gloating she'd gotten Barb banned.

I think PM's and the visitor messages are fair game. You can notify a mod, I'm not sure what they can or can't do. I know they don't access our PM's unless somebody reports something.

She mentioned one particular thing, you didn't mention, that I found pretty dang offensive, I'm not prudish or trouble, but some things should not be said in public. It's truly offensive. Thats why I had to report it. I just hope IF she comes back, she quits the ****.

Again I'm not saying they do look at PM's but if they can look when they are notified then what keeps them from it otherwise.

Well for one thing, I think they are all volunteer so I would assume they have things other looking at random PMs to occupy their time.

I thought the same thing when the rh deal was ongoing. I was informed by a former mod, that they do not have access to pm's ...admins might, but they have too much to do within their real life to deal with petty harrassments. THough in this case, the person that got banned was obviously hitting the report post constantly and it got old. Can you imagine doing this mod/admin job with no compensation and having to deal with petty stuff? When it gets serious, the Admin steps in and may just look at the pms if there is a reason to do so(legalities)
I agree, enjoy the quiet time, but keep your eyes open at all times when it comes to the ones that don't have a voice!

Since she hasn't been able to play nice in one single thread she has ever participated in, I doubt that she'll slow her roll at all if allowed back.

I have been here a long time. I might not post a whole lot, but I try to check in weekly. I don't think I have ever seen someone who was that consistently unpleasant. It isn't like she had anything of value to offer this community.
