ban/suspend over harassment & fighting?
I think it is a stupid rule and should not be so black and white. Leave room for mods/admins to have discretion in how it is handled.. that should be for all rules.
If it is a petty thing where we lose our temper in a thread and are unable to keep it civil towards a person past that point fine suspend them if it keeps happening. In a case where someone feels there is a real issue then it should be discussed, not close threads and delete posts. If it turns out to be nothing more than personal issues between two people then make both parties utilize the block feature on this board. Losing valuable members hurts this board. The good that is done is more important than some stupid beef between two members. What if no one ever posted about RH(Alaska)? That whole thing was by board rules harassment/rumors but I think we can all agree that we are thankful someone found out what was going on. |

I have no idea what happened but enforcing rules across the board is a protection for the mods. Can you imagine the harrassment they'd be subjected to if every rule was enforced on a case by case basis?

Sometimes temporary suspensions are necessary to remind people to remain civil. The administrators don't do this lightly, and generally only after at least one and often several warnings, so all someone has to do to avoid a suspension is to heed those warnings. If they don't, no matter who they are or how valued a member, the board really doesn't have a choice.
