Why do I see all the posts in a thread backwards??

I actually mean that if I search a topic, and there are 2 or more pages in the thread- I have to go to page 1 and read each post from the bottom of the page to the top. Then I need to click on the second page and go again from the bottom to the top etc.On some other forums the top post is the original one and you go through them from top to bottom and first page in numerical order onward to the next pages.

Just wondering if there is a setting to make it reverse or if that is just the way this forum works.
