questions about reading forum posts

is there any type of notification system for when someone comments on a thread you've created or do you just have to keep going back to check? Also, I notice sometimes the first post is the first one you see and then other times the last post is the first one and you have to go to the last page to see the original post that started the thread. Is there a way to change it so that its always the original post you see first? Thanks!

I usually just check the NEW POSTS at the top and see whats happening that way.

You can subscribe to the thread to receive an email each time there is a new post.

Just go up to the drop down that says "Thread Tools" - select "Subscribe to this Thread" and choose the notification level you want

Click "user CP" at the top, then click "edit options" on the left.
Scroll down to "thread display options". Under "thread display mode" change the options (on the drop down menu) to "Linear - Oldest First". Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "save changes".
