You cant edit after like 10min. I wanted to delete something since i wrote something that had nothing to do with the OP posts and i couldnt delete or edit it to match the topic.

You can edit or delete within 10 minutes. After that you cannot.

It is set that way to prevent people from going back and changing their posts once discussion has moved on. Too many times people have changed their stories if someone didn't agree with them, or simply made a thread confusing by altering posts.

There is no where else in life where you can say something and then take it back or completely change it later, and thus this setting on the forum. People need to think about what they are saying before they post, and a 10 minute window to change their minds if they wish they hadn't said something is more than sufficient.

I'm involved in a couple political forums where trouble makers and cowards would constantly change/delete their posts if not for settings like this.

Weird people would change their posts, why even write it? LOL. I on the other hand may have to do some apologizing. I am usually rushed while writing on a thread so i only have a few min each visit. It causes me to rush my reading hence missing some important things. Something i write things unrelated to the posts by accident lol.

Ill have to stop posting or have a script apology ready to cut and paste LOL.

This is the best explanation of such policy I've ever heard. Nice work on that!

Yeah, the only problem comes in when you're on the forums at 3 in the morning, and then the next day log on and realize how may stupid typos you made. Not that I've ever done that, of course.

And when English is not your first language and the next day you realize you sound like Tarzan... it is worst
