Default New to GSDs, New Owner, Want to learn Section

Just a suggestion, but what about a section near the top of the sections for people considering the German shepherd breed, and for new GSD owners.

Topics in the section could include:

What to look for in a breeder

Great places to obtain your first GSD

Ears up yet?

What you need to know before bringing your new puppy home

Is a GSD right for me?

History of the GSD

Reputation of the GSD

Various outlets for you and your GSD, training, working, etc.

Introducing your new GSD to the board in words and pictures.

Adventures and reflections of your initial GSD experience

I know that if others like the idea, they could come up with a much better list of possible topics for people new to the breed, getting their first puppy, etc.

Love it and support it! However, I think instead of it being one section, I think it should be a subforum like Member's corner and then the sections could be called:

GSD Breeders for beginners
Rescue and Adopting GSDs for beginners
Is the GSD right for me?
History and Reputation of the GSD
Working and Training Your GSD

Something like that. I think it's a great idea, selzer.

I love the idea too. Even though all the information is already available here if your new to the site because it's kinda scattered everywhere your probably not going to find it easily unless you know what to look for which you don't on a new site. Sounds like a no brainer to me great idea Selzer

I, personally, would LOVE info on bite inhibition! My fingers and ankles are begging for help!

Awesome idea and definitely support it! I especially like the reputation section idea. Good and bad would be something new owners need to know.

This would be so helpful... I spend quite a bit of time searching different sections of this site (which isnt horrible just time consuming) looking for answers to questions I have : )

I support it!

Agreed... a "new to the breed" would be a great section to add to this forum. Could you imagine all of the sticky's that can be added to a section like that? Would probably save from having to type in a lot of the same responses to all of those common questions that are constantly posted.

I support it! It can be time consuming for a newbie (or oldbie for that matter) to find posts here. If someone is thinking about a GSD or needs help a section they could go to right away would be so nice.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away.
