Default Chat Room

Have the people who are in charge of this forum ever thought about adding a chat room? I think it would benefit the forum, it would help members form bonds and friendships between on another. It's just a small suggestion.

The subject has been raised on a number of occasions, but has always been nixed. Chat rooms seem to rarely, if ever, stay "civil". They simply seem to bring out the worst in some people. I think we are better off without one, JMHO. If it's something you really want, other boards do have them..........

No, I don't have to have one. I just thought it was a good idea and something worth suggesting.

being whatever you want to be is the best
part of a chat room. if people are uncivil with each other
how are you effected by that?

Agreed. Unfortunately, some people don't know how to respectfully disagree.
And there will ALWAYS be disagreements.

Wouldn't you agree?

Instant messaging would be cool too.

The chat room we had in the past was often not used to form friendships but to swap porn and talk about other members.

A chat room in keeping with our family friendly goal would need to have rules and a way to enforce those rules such as having a Mod available while open and I think all Mods already have enough on their plate with jobs, families, dogs, and other duties.

It is not pleasant for a member to pop in and read what others have said about them and I'm not talking just about disagreements over what type of kibble someone feeds.
