Default Training Theory & Methods "Sponsored By"

Maybe it's just me, but I find the "sponsored by" link underneath the Training Theory & Methods forum to be very annoying, and not just because it's blinking / moving. Aren't there enough ads on the forum without having individual companies/websites "sponsoring" particular sections of the forum?

I'm not seeing that ad on my page It show up even when you are signed in? I do know that, in general, to keep this a free forum the bills need to be paid some other way. Currently that's with the advertising.

I can see it too. It's a small box that is flashy, moving and it is indeed annoying.

It's sponsored by trainingpetdog I think?

Know that there are ways to format and remove most of the ads... just don't remember what the heck it was.

Yes, it shows up even though I am signed in AND running AdBlock Plus, which removes all the other ads for me.

Aside from the fact that it's blinky and annoying, it gives the impression that the people who run that website are supporting/giving advice on this page, or that this page condones their training advice and philosophy. At least that's how it comes across to me.

For some reason, I can no longer see any new threads in Training Theory & Methods. When I am looking at the main forum view, I see the most recent post and can click on that to access it, but when I go to click on Training Theory & Methods, I see no posts newer than the end of August.

Never mind, it's working now. Must've been a glitch.

And now the General Information is sponsored by Dog Tuff.

And I am running adblocks too. Is this going to happen to every area on this forum?

I'm thinking that's the new trend and way to force us to see the ads. Least they are teeny.

Will say, I only hang out and check the 'Quick Links' then 'Todays Posts' so miss almost all the ads...

Well, if this happens to every section, I know of at least two more nice GSD boards we can all go to.
