There ya go. Someone has to pay the bills and if we would like this to be continue to be free, the ads come too.

Honestly, I'd rather pay a couple of bucks instead of being a hypocrite.

I mean, we are preaching against puppy mills and let the forum we all enjoy so much advertise for what we are against?

They actually could control who is advertising if they wouldn't use google ads... why not sell the advertising places for a reasonable price to some small businesses and have banners on top of the side?

Why not have banners from responsible breeders up there?

Honestly, how much does it cost to host the forum per year?

It's not about meeting costs, it's about making profit.
When the board was owned by a private individual, there were no ads. The board was purchased by a corporation that runs many internet forums and like any business the goal is to make money. Hence the ads that are now on the forum. We have to remember this board is now owned by a corporation, not "dog people", and thus the priorities are different and the ads displayed will reflect that.

While what Chris has wrote here is valid about us being a corporation, I will have to disagree with the comment about the priorities of our corporation. Yes there are ads here and they are to generate revenue but at the same time, we have demonstrated a willingness and desire to minimize ads that are not in line with the values of this community and for that matter, all our pet communities. That said, we cannot BLOCK every link to a breeder/mill that is on the internet without knowing about it. We will continue to do so and if you see an ad that should be blocked out, please send me a PM with a link or a screenshot and we'll see that it gets blocked.

The link in question has been blocked and will kick in within 24 hours.
