Hi everyone,
Here is ONE way to edit your signature: 1. Click on USER CP in the main navigation menu. 2. You will be taken to the USER CP. From there, click on the link, "EDIT SIGNATURE" in the left side navigation menu. 3. Once you are in the module that allows you to edit your signature, the process is pretty straightforward. The text editor to edit your signature is almost identical to the one you use to make posts. Please see images below: |

How can you view your signature in text mode on the edit page, and not in html mode?
Does that question make sense? I want to change the code/name of a link, for example, instead of doing the automatic name, which is too long. |

Okay, found it. When editing your signature, this button:
allows you to go into text mode. That shows all of the characters used in your signature. If you had more than 250 characters before the conversion (I don't remember if that's possible), you are stuck with your old sig, and cannot make minor changes to it, unless you get it down below the current limit. When the site converted, it added some unnecessary characters to the html markup. Not a lot, but a few (like formatting links twice, using more characters than necessary). oh, if you want to put a link in your sig, and it's really long, you can make it shorter by using www.tinyurl.com , and then naming it appropriately using code in text mode, if that makes sense. Ok people, I think that LisaT is BRILLIANT and figured out the signature problem. A simple looking signature with hardly any letters like:
************** ~ Jen ~ Sable~ GSD 6 yrs. NJP,TN-N,CGC Shadow~ BGSD *Rescued* 5 yrs. RN,CGC Storm~ GSD 4 yrs. TN-N,RA,CGC "Money will buy you a pretty good dog, but it won't buy the wag of his tail." Is ACTUALLY taking up over 1000 spaces and in reality looks like this: ![]() So to REALLY see how many characters you are using you have to click on the button in the upper right hand corner of the message window and see what appears!
