I have criticism... for everyone

Let's start by explaining WHY I joined this message board:

I owned a German Shepherd that I was forced to give up 8 years ago. He was titled in OB, SCH. Agility, and CGC. I, though, do not have the experience with some of the NEWER food, NEWER toys, NEWER precedures and training methods, so yes, I ask a lot of questions. I am not dumb, I am not in need of lecturing.. I came here even MORE to socialize with other GSD lovers, and show off pictures, because I am proud. I did my research on my particular pup before I bought him. I liked the lines, with strong VA and V ratings showing strong temperments and exceptional standard quality. The SCH titles were pages long, and I visited and spent a good amount of time with the breeders and parents. I also contacted and researched the grandparents breeders, finding out all I could, because I did intend to attempt showing, competing, etc. I planned on spending 1200-2000 for what I wanted, yet I got lucky. That doesn't make my dog any less qualified for anything. A pricetag means nothing at all.

So, then I start reading posts, and it's no **** wonder people PM all the time for advice. You people need to get off those high horses. We are all human. Accidental litter - all of the sudden these people are monsters.... wanting to breed - not unless YOU approve personally or think the dog is good enough to be yours...

I will tell you... you have no right. It angers me even more that I get on here, and browse websites of members, and one of the more " seasoned" members is a breeder of these so called " old fashioned" shepherds at 130+ pounds. I don't see anyone at all telling her to stop breeding these oversized monsters that are NOT of breed standard, but my pup can be of perfect standard and you will tell me I shouldn't breed. Some of you are such hypocrites and need to readjust your way of thinking. I personally spend more time sending PMs to people that are a lot more relaxed and non judgemental than posting questions...

So, people.. get a grip. You are hateful, judgemental, mean, hypocritical, rude, and need to calm down.... if you can't say something nice.. STFU

maybe you should have sent this via pm to those you are bothered by instead of directing it to the entire board

Well, the thing about any public forum is that we don't have to all agree. And we all have opinions. Usually we all know that WE are right (and what the heck is wrong with everyone else?).

Some members are ruder. Some more polite.

I know for me, the longer I've been here, I know who I like to read and learn from, and who I think is just trying to incite intrigue and arguments, and those that are truly green and just don't know what they don't know, along with the huge mix of other members with different backgrounds/experiences and writing abilities.

For every post that I think is crazy, I usually read just as many that are well thought out and have good information. So I try to learn from those, address the 'crazy' to figure it out, and remember this is JUST a forum and I won't actually die if someone disagrees with me or hurts my feelings .....

Please keep in mind that there are rules for this board and the Mods/Admins rely on YOU members to help us with them. We can't be one every post all day long so stuff can easily slip by us. So we may not address an issue because we don't KNOW about it, not because we are picking and choosing who to warn and who to let go.

Sending it directly would have been a lot of PMs. Go read the post about the woman that was being responsible enough to at least ask how to make sure her opps litter goes to the right homes... and then how the whole post turns into hatemail towards her... or the people wanting advice on just about anything. Has nothing to do with what " i want to hear" because advice is one thing but being downright hateful towards people who arent perfect is something else completely.

Maggie... I actually like you. I don't know you, but at least you take the posts and answer without being rude. It just sucks, because SOME people ( i never said everyone) are discouraging uninformed new GSD owners completely. People come here for support, not attitude.

IF there's one thing I've learned on this particular board is once one poster picks up on something not quite rigth, a bunch of others jump all over it.

hmmmm...thanks alot Kristi. As a rescuer who deals with death and suffering every day....and tries to make a tiny difference in the face of a sea of literally millions of animals dying through no fault of their own...just irresponsible breeding...irresponsible owners....yep...I'm not going to happy to hear of yet another oops litter. Now...that being said.....please point out to me how I was hateful, rude and judgemental. I posted on that thread...so please tell me...


editing to add...wrong thread...i posted on the thread where the guy wants to breed...

I did not post on the thread with the oops litter. While I don't agree...or may feel upset...I try never to be hateful or rude.

I feel bad for the oops litter lady. Sometimes mistakes just happen, but she is trying to find good homes and do the right thing. I paid $600 for my GSD and he is absolutely fabulous.

Also, again, in case anyone is having trouble reading or comprehending the plain and simple english that I am speaking... I never said EVERYONE, I was speaking about the large PERCENTAGE of the people with attitudes... so.. hateful would be the post you posted on here....
