Default Minor forum complaint...

I am obviously new here and love the site so far. Everyone has been very helpful in the forums but I do have one small complaint.

The forum is separated into wayyyy too many sub forums and sub-sub forums. I counted 16 different main rooms and under these are anywhere from 4 to 11 different sub-forums.

Although I'm not experienced here, I have been and are a member of many different communities. I understand the need to separate to keep everything tidy, but it just seems like overkill.

For someone new like me it is difficult to navigate around to make sure your question goes in the right place. In addition, there are probably some great questions, posts, and comments that go largely unnoticed by the community because it is nearly impossible for someone to review ALL of these rooms.

Other than that...no problems...

You can look in the active topics link at the top of the pages. That way you see all the current posts without having to search through all the forums.

You can also use the New Posts, which will also list the forum.

We just converted software, we are all getting used to it too!

Yes...the active posts does help (thanks for that)...but (yes I know I'm playing devil's advocate) isn't this the same thing as just having one giant forum?

I'm just being nit picky now

The forums and subforums are here because they are used and folks post to them, and there has to be some way to organize them. There are smaller forums out there, but this is a large site.

So it seems that you are just making an observation, since the alternative is to list everything together, in a jumbled sort of way.

Anyway, hope you firgure out a way to organize your browsing.

The nice thing about having things separated is that you don't HAVE to wade through things you are not interested in to get to the things you are.

For example, I only glance through the Puppy Place, Breeding, Working Dogs and Dog Sports. If all those threads were mixed in with the threads I DO want to read then it would be alot more work.

Another handy tip - you are supposed to be able to click on the button on the upper right of each forum section, and it will close that area, so you don't have to see it when you are scrolling along the forums. I find that helpful if I'm viewing in forum view.

However, if you've read a forum and just posted in it, I'm finding that the software doesn't seem to mark that forum read, so that might not be a helpful way to read the board either
