BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dog is nuts Absolutely insane Last week I set my breakfast (2 pieces of cinnamon bread with butter and a mug of tea) down on the arm of the couch. Gracie never touches our food; she knows better. Well, I hear licking, assuming she's licking her paws and yell from the other room to stop. Okay, I walk in and find her licking my bread. I assume (you know what that means) it fell off the couch and Gracie assumed that anything on the floor is fair game.

Fast forward to today. I put my breakfast (2 pieces of cinnamon bread with butter and a mug of tea) on the dining room table. My bread is wrapped in a napkin as I always eat on my way to work. I go to brush my hair. Come out and find my bread on the floor and Gracie licking it - ears down, whale eyes looking up at me.

WHAT A BRAT!!!!! She had to actually pull it down to get at it. Now, dummy head that she is, she didn't try to bite it, nooooo, only lick the butter.

I think my girl is addicted to butter

So, I grabbed a granola bar and flew out the door. D'oh!

Re: BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can relate....One day someone rang our door bell during breakfast and as my kids ran to open the door our outside cat ran in and our inside yorkie-poo ran out.... the lady at the door waited until my kids stopped yelling at the cat and dog and then said "maybe it's my imagination but I swear a dog ran by with a piece of cheese toast in his mouth..." I went back to the table and sure enough the cheese toast was missing. I think the cat and dog had it worked out to distract and confuse us so they could steal our food!

Re: BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are some really funny stories.

But, can you blame them? You leave some really tempting food there and leave. I'd take it too. LOL.

One of my friends was at a client site to teach a class once. There was a box of supplies at the front of the room. Amongst the supplies was a box of girl scout cookies. She was so hungry so she opened it and ate a few. Everything was fine until the person who owned the cookies came by to pick them up. So, it can happen with humans too.

Re: BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahah, she might like the butter itself. Our roomie's old husky stole 2 sticks of butter off the counter...we only figured it out because the wrappers showed up during poop scoop duty....

Re: BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! Years ago when I lived at home my mother had just put a fresh stick of "butter" in the dish, and it was on the kitchen table in the middle. I was getting ready to make some toast and went to the bathroom first. When I came back there was a groove in the top of the butter. I searched for the cat, couldn't find her. Came back to a bigger groove. Went to the living room and told my mother, we came back to find the cat on the table licking the butter.......
