Its almost been a year,

Well its a few months short of a year since we pulled Tyson from the pound. I have noticed so many changes in him but it certainly took a long while to bring him out of his shell.

He is just now expressing sincere interest in playing tug with me, before he would let go and trot off to smell something but now he is totally into it..he is also a "talker" i have never heard any dog talk that much while playing.

No more cowering when an accidental pee occurs in the basement. This bothered me, slinking around and shaking if he took a wee in the house. It does not happen often now but we have consistently remained mellow and neutral with him and his ooop's- we would let him out wait with him, let him in and go about cleaning the pee paying no attention to him what so ever.

A giant leap in leash reactivity-

His play drive has changed alot also, he will find us to drop a stick or toy and poke us with it until we do.

The vacuum- big huge fear until recently he started following it around and sniffing it, still is very cautious but the fact he is not terrified and hiding anymore is a huge improvment.

We are still in the process of ironing out a few kinks but i am very proud of him for coming along so much-

Sounds like Tyson is loving his home, and you of course! It takes a fearful dog (or person for that matter) a while to trust again. Enjoy!
